Good Ass Nu

My study routine was halted for several days due to the absence of my laptop. I sent it to one of the IT store it in KB for a reformat and just recovered it today. Which also explains my absence from blogging, also for quite some time. To be honest, studying is not a leisure and I believe it never will be. Some might say learning is fun. Atu learniiiiing..Ani studying bah studying! It's like same same but different. Sama tapi inda serupa. But yes, it is not easy to live easy.
But of course, as a student for most of my lifetime now, I have so much of experience in preparing myself one week prior to the exam:
  • Day 1: Compile and arrange your notes neatly in accordance to their respective subjects and dates. Sharpen your pencils and check if you have all the necessary stationaries ready.
  • Day 2: Download all the lectures notes uploaded on the courses' respective emails or websites if you haven't done so.
  • Day 3: You're doing just good and well on track. Now, go online and chat, or blog about how your days are going, and claim that you're taking some time off to rest your mind before you 'continue'.
  • Day 4: Watch TV, surf facebook and online.
  • Day 5: Watch TV, surf facebook and online.
  • Day 6: Text your friends regarding what topics to read, scratch your head well as soon as you find out exam is only a couple of days away and you still have a mountain to climb. To rest your mind, again, repeat the activities that you did on Day 3, 4 and 5.
  • Day 7: Daytime, highlighting the important points. Evening, still highlighting and once you're done with it by midnight, you find it hard to digest all the points in your head and zzzzzz........
  • D-day: "Yo, udah ko blajar?? Aku alum yoo...Banyak kan di highlight aaahhh!! Tawakal saja eh!"
Give it a shot! Good luck!

It's Already A Year Now

Me and my lady just celebrated our first year anniversary yesterday (22nd April 2009) right after the Green Generation Project event that my coursemates and I had at Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Primary School earlier in the day. I was exhausted lately and barely had ample of time to rest. I wasn't even sure if I was at my best of look for my anniversary date with my lady as I had to entertain the kids in school by being a mascot earlier in the day, yesterday. But that just didn't stop us from having a real good time together.
We decided to take studio photo shoots as to mark our first year anniversary. These are the unedited ones I uploaded from the CD they gave us (I like the edited ones better tho'. Ani nampak tia jerawat ku -_-')
p/s: Rambut hanya disisir dengan menggunakan jari
Your smile tells me that you're so sincerely and honestly happy with me =)

My lady is just as beautiful when not wearing tudung
We then made our move and eat at Manjaro, little more than a year later since I proposed her at the restaurant after meal. The food was great and comparable to its price. Melayan liur sang kekasih kan makan Nachos.
After the meal, we then decided to cancel our earlier plan for a movie and opt for a, say, more light and easy moment together, I'd like to call.
Hazimah my lady, this post is specially dedicated to you and for all the readers to read. All I can say is I love you. And if I know a thousand ways say I love you, I would.

Went Green N' Crazy For A Good Cause

Event: Green Generation Project
Time & Date: 8am til 12 noon, 22nd April 2009
Venue: Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Primary School
What an event it was. Things went well, it couldn't be any better. SP2221 is sure a PPA course I enjoy the most this semester, again a special thanks to Dr. Azman Ahmad. The event was very well publisized and we made it on the news and the local newspapers. I just never thought that attempting to make this Earth a better place to live in would be so much fun!
I didn't get to take so many shots during the event as I myself was very busy. I was the mascot for the day. If you think being a mascot is only for the lazy and those who prefer for an easier task, you're wrong! Especially when you have 300+ kids as your target audience. The kids were all adorable and great. They played their part in making the event a huge success. But when it comes to trying to get things their way, they're monsters! I lost my wig and glasses numerous of times and got my face painted in a merciless manner. Cute thing they are. Shut it. More comprehensive reports on the event, click here: Ranoadidas, Amar.
Captain H2O (Hafiiz, left), Prof. Lighbulb (me, centre) and Nature Bro (Nazirul, right) with the kids before the second half of the event resumed
I had a dream of becoming a celebrity one day. Now I have a second thought about it.

Antara Udang & Tuna

Clearly I think that us Bruneians have lost our identity. Kata orang Melayu, jati diri. It is shameful to say this, even for myself as a Bruneian. Why am I saying this? Well, I just had this thought for a very very long time and just when I am taking a short pause from doing my SP2223 essay, I feel like voicing it out here.
What's my argument accusing us Bruneians to have lost our identity? Mana tah kan, if:
  • Kitani becakap sama amah kitani, tani cakap Indon tia jua. "Biiii!!! Mengapa pinggan mangkuk nya nggak habis dicuci??"
  • Kitani bejumpa kaling, slang kaling tia jua kitani pakai. "Alaa...Kasi murah lagi la tambi. Stupur ini macam tada original bah."
  • Kitani becakap sama Cina, slang cina tia jua kitani pakai. "Eh tokey. Brapa lama lu boleh siap bikin ini keleta?
  • Cakap sama orang putih lagi tia, confirm cakap orang putih jua. I don't need to show you an example here lah ah.

Bila tah kan cakap Brunei? "Among us Bruneian lah" you said. True. I couldn't agree more. Atu pun membari kesian kadang-kadang. Some of the Brunei Malay words pun ada yang kitani inda tau. How dis?

I'm not pointing fingers at anyone here. It's just one of my thoughts that I like to share with you guys and make you guys think "banar jua nya liau hanyut ani ah".

Jangan jadi udang guys. Di aing, udang ya. Sampai nya ke darat, kana tutuk, kana jamur, jadi belacan last-last.

Instead, let us take tuna as an example. Di laut, tuna namanya. Kana pancing, tuna lakat namanya. Kana blend and masukkan dalam tin, tuna jua lakat namanya. Siap kana bagi nama ayam brand lagi. Tuna jua lakat namanya. Dari transition nya from laut ke dalam tin, tuna tetap tuna. Tetap sungguh pendiriannya.

13th on 18th

A birthday shoutout to my beloved brother, Syahin Syahwan for turning 13 today! My fat brother (the only fat brother that is) that I love the most. Sorry I can only afford to dedicate a post for you as I am short of sufficient cash to buy you present. I can even find a time to step outside the doorstep.
Mind that jerawat. I blame the testosterone that's in me for that -_-'
p/s: Friday the 13th bila out?

Preoccupied With Assignments

I don't find the title post fancy at all but then again, come to think of it, how can it possibly be anyway, with the word 'assignments' attached. Anyway, these are the lists of the remaining assignments that are yet to be done and need to be submitted real soon:
  • SP2304 essay due on 20th April 2009
  • SP2223 essay due 23rd April 2009
  • SP2305 essay due 23rd April 2009

I don't see this one as an assignment although it actually is, but this is what the students of SP2221 Resource Studies, including me should do. We are required to conduct activities in conjunction to the World Earth Day on the 22nd April 2009 venued at Sekolah Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah. Our targetted audience will be the students from year 4 to 6. Sounds cool, can't wait for the day to come. The event is sponsored by JASTRe (Jabatan Alam Sekitar, Taman dan Rekreasi) and currently we are busy doing all kinds of preparation for the event.

Alright, now that I've listed out the works that I'm currently preoccupied with, you can expect my absence from blogging starting from now.

What I'd Put In My College Yearbook #2 / April Friend Of The Month

This is the picture of me with one of my closest friends, Enoy while we were still in our 1st year in UBD. I just came across this picture at Yumi's blog and like it so very very the much!
Enoy is currently studying in Manchester, UK. Enoy! Nah, as promised, a post dedicated just for you, although not much. Hehe..Anyway, I decide to pay a tribute by crowning you as my blog's Friend of the Month for the April issue.
And this marks my 100th post! Wohoo!

My Temburong Study Trip Faithful Companions

I would like to dedicate this posting to my lifeless companions during my 3 days 2 nights stay in Temburong. Without you guys (or things), Temburong would be very hard to live in.

Temburong Study Trip

Despite my own initiated call for a hiatus from blogging, I decided that blogging is also one of the means to release my stress. So here are some out of the so many pictures I got from my coursemates, illustrating all the fun we had and the challenges we endured during our 3 days and 2 nights stay at Kuala Belalong, Temburong. Special Thanks to Dr. Azman Ahmad for initiating this trip. We can hardly forget this amazing experience.
Program: Temburong Study Trip
Venue: Kuala Belalong Field Study Centre
Date: 10th-12th April 2009
Course: SP2221 Resource Studies

Long-Term Hiatus

I will be on a long-term hiatus due to exhaustion of the Temburong trip and kesibukan-ness of assignments. Sorry for the lack of updates in recent weeks. Will be back hopefully by the end of this month. See ya!

Just Got Back From Mars

A couple of weeks of absence from blogging is a clear enough of indicator that kesibukan-ness doing assignments is the sole reason. Facing the prospect of at least 6 assignments due to be submitted just within the month of April truly doesn't offer any kind of breathing space to rest my tired mind.

Even the kindness of luxury won't be available until Friday 10th April in a form of Kuala Belalong educational trip. Fun as it sounds, yes, considering that we're going with a group of crazy friends, plus Kuala Belalong is a new wild world for us. Think of the waterfalls, rich forest reserves, chalet or villa we're gonna live in. Temburong has so much to offer when it comes to providing tranquility. A great way to escape for three days from doing assignments. But that would also mean that we will be 3 days short of finishing any one or two of them.

Scary as it sounds? Ooh, what they fuck! Temburong! Here we come!!

At The Losing End

Things just went horribly wrong for my team Carabao despite having a well-balanced and morale-boosting training/get-together session -drew once and 5 times beaten in what appeared to be the first league format of Deans Cup. Carabao shared the spoil with Red Bull but occupied the bottom spot for conceding more.

But from what I saw, my team is made up of talented individuals in their areas. I guess we just couldn't blend well. Anyway, it's not the results that matters. It's the new friends we made and the new faces that we met that matters more (Tagline for the losers).

Carabao. It's been an honour to have played along with you guys.
More news and results here.
