Common English spoken mistakes are often heard in our everyday lives, and so does pronunciations, spellings etc. I gotta be honest, I myself sometimes commit minor mistakes in communicating in English, maybe even as I speak! You know, errors like "that's mean" is most commonly committed by those who doesn't speak English regularly. Alright, maybe credits should be given to those of them who have the guts to try to speak good English, although risking a lil' bit of minor embarrassment. By the way I'm not that kinda people that gives them 'the look' whenever they speak bad English. C'mon, at least they try. They are gonna be good and fluent in speaking English someday....hopefully.....
Now what I actually am trying to deliver here is, don't make communicating errors an obvious one. Well, even minor errors in communication will bring about major difference in meaning. Try take a look at this picture below:
I got this from the arcade (formerly a pool cafe) at The Mall Gadong. The intended message is suppose to be 'Please Get Your Credit From The Counter Before Entering The Room'. God knows what the erroneous message would mean when translated in Malay.
