Yesterday there was a Fire Prevention Talk held at the female Residential College organized by the Residential College in close cooperation with RESCO (Residential College Organization). Giving the lecture on ways of preventing fire and how to deal with them were our guests from the Fire and Rescue Dept.
Press from both The Brunei Times and Borneo Bulletin were there to make the coverage. What's so cool about being RESCO is we often get to call the press to come each time we organize an event. Publicity is always nice. This event made up the news in both papers.
Anyway, back to the topic. As soon as the guest officers were done with their briefings, we were ask to go out to the parking lot to witness the demo on how to extinguish fire using the fire extinguisher (dhuh..). Everyone got the chance to try and extinguish the fire in the barrel. It seemed nothing until I tried it myself (I was being called out by the lady officer 'coz I wore a tie. I was so obvious and easy to distinguish). Putting out a big flame with a fire extinguisher was so cool!
